COVID-19 and Vitamin D
Why is vitamin D important in this
pandemic?
The necessity of spending some time in the sunlight has become even more warranted
by the current COVID-19 pandemic. (It shows how questionable, ill-advised, and
even harmfull, all these lockdowns are.)
As you might have read, recent research in Spain has shown that up to 80% of
COVID-19 patients were lacking vitamin D. This is not to suggest that
vitamin D will save you from the coronavirus. Rather, those who lacked this crucial vitamin were more likely to
experience more severe symptoms.

While there is no cure for the COVID-19
coronavirus yet, and vaccines are still too
early in their use to be judged how effective, you can take some sensible
precautions against catching the virus, which includes boosting your immunity
with vitamins C, D and E, as well as zinc and magnesium supplements.

Boost your immunity with vitamin D
Some other studies were also showing that people who are defficient in vitamin D
are more likely to get the COVID-19 and develop more serious symptoms. This is not surprising, as vitamin D plays
an important role in the body's immunity, alleviates inflammation and reduces the risk of respiratory system
disease.
All the more reason to make a habit of catching at least a few minutes of sunlight
every day and loading up your body with this valuable vitamin. The best part, it's all free!
