Just like those diet trends we see every year. However, in 2019, we have some food trends that you should know because they are probably going to become part of your everyday life. So, if you are interested in following some of those healthy trends, keep on reading.

Oat Milk

If you have been following food trends in the last couple of years or even decade, you have probably noticed that each year we welcome some new kind of milk. Every new year comes with a new milk product. We have had soya milk, coconut milk, almond milk and many, many more. But, in 2019, one of the most popular food trends was oat milk. And, it still is. Why people love it so much is because it tastes the same as cow milk and it even foams in the same way. All that, plus the fact that it is much healthier and has fewer calories is why people love it so much. You can cook it, drink it fresh, put it in your morning oats or in your smoothies. However, since this is a relatively new food trend, you cannot really find it in all supermarkets. But, check those health-food stores! New York is full of them, so, should you decide to call NYC your home, check out some of them.

Hummus, but as a Dessert

We all love hummus! It is one of the healthiest things you can eat as it is full of fibers and proteins, it is versatile and it tastes amazing. But, in 2019, we have a new food trend - dessert hummus. Basically, you have the same ingredients, but instead of salt, this hummus has sugar and cocoa powder. It tastes just like pudding. Also, many people like to put fruit on top of it. However, you have to be careful if you are on a strict diet. Although this dessert is healthy, it still contains sugars. Especially, those that are store-bought. So, if you like hummus, try making this dessert. You can find many recipes online. Avoid buying processed foods in stores when you can easily make them at home, this is a golden rule if you want to have better health. It will be much cheaper, and a lot healthier.

Celery Juice

Celery juice is nothing new. People were drinking this type of juice in the past for its health benefits. But, what is new is the fact that some of the most popular fitness gurus started using it. Then, all the celebrities started doing the same. And, today, in 2019, you can see this juice everywhere. Many people claim that it is a kind of magic elixir. It not only helps you lose weight, but it is also great for your health. This is because celery is rich with magnesium and helps with removing toxins from the body as well as for stabilizing blood pressure. Moreover, many great nutritionists and fitness trainers recommend drinking this juice after a workout to avoid muscle pain. Also, it is great because of its versatility. You can drink it alone, make a tea out of it, mix it with some citrus fruits for an energy boost, and so on.

Orange Wine

No, we are not talking about wine made from oranges. The wine is the same, coming from grapes used for making white wine, but it has an orange color. How, you might ask. Well, instead of removing the skin and the seeds from the grapes, winemakers leave them on and let them ferment together with the grape juices. After some time, the wine will change its color and become orange. The taste is similar to white wine, but you can also taste honey, wood, and orange. However, this flavor is not what made this wine popular. It is its color. Namely, Instagram users like their drinks bright and colorful, and of course, they like new things. So, quite accidentally, this wine became a popular 'food trend'. Moreover, drinking wine is healthy. We all know that wine has health benefits! But be careful, one glass is healthy, not more.

But, we are not talking about those probiotic foods like yogurt, pears or sauerkraut. No, we are talking about actual probiotic pills. So, as they can easily be bought in pharmacies, people started taking advantage of them. Now, in almost any smoothie store, you can order a probiotic smoothie. And what is more, you can drink this smoothie made of all the ingredients you like. There is no need to limit yourself to always drinking one smoothie just because it has probiotic features. This healthy-food trend became really popular this year, especially in the US and Europe. In 2020, we will probably see probiotics in almost all foods like cereal, granolas and the like.
